What is the Environmentally Friendly Accommodation Facility Electricity Energy Support (Green Star)?

Within the scope of the “Environmentally Friendly Accommodation Facilities” project initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it is an environmental label given to ministry-licensed accommodation facilities that comply with specified criteria, where the stars on the existing tourism operation certificates are shown in green and the phrase “Environmentally Friendly Facility” is written on the plaque.

Why?

With the “Decision on Electricity Energy Support for Businesses Certified as Environmentally Friendly Accommodation Facilities” published in the Official Gazette dated September 6, 2013 (Decision Number: 2013/5265), it was stated that a portion of the electricity energy expenses consumed by tourism enterprises certified as environmentally friendly accommodation facilities by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be supported and paid from the ministry's budget appropriation.

The validity period of the Environmentally Friendly Accommodation Facility and Green Star certificate is such that facilities found appropriate after being inspected by the ministry for meeting the necessary criteria are re-inspected every two (2) years.

When?

This decision has been effective since its publication date, September 6, 2013.
