WHAT ARE THE REGISTRATION AND APPROVAL PROCEDURES FOR FOOD BUSINESSES?

Accommodation facilities producing food are considered mass consumption places and must be registered according to the regulation.

WHY?

Within the scope of the Regulation on Registration and Approval Procedures of Food Businesses dated December 17, 2011, numbered 28145,

WHEN?

Food businesses subject to approval must obtain an approval certificate according to this Regulation by 31.12.2012 from the date of publication of this Regulation.

WHERE?

Applications for registration must be submitted to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock.

HOW?

The food business applies by preparing the registration declaration along with the requested information and documents. (During the application, it is obliged to pay the fee determined according to its capacity or the number of personnel employed).

The authorized authority examines the file within fifteen working days from the application date. If the information and documents in the file are complete and correctly prepared, the authorized authority issues the business registration certificate with the registration number to the food businesses.

Fee Amounts

Businesses will pay a fee according to the total number of personnel they employ.

  • Fee for businesses employing 0-10 personnel: 50
  • Fee for businesses employing 11-20 personnel: 100
  • Fee for businesses employing 21-30 personnel: 250
  • Fee for businesses employing 31-40 personnel: 1000
  • Fee for businesses employing 41-50 personnel: 2000
  • Fee for businesses employing 51 and above personnel: 3000

RECORD KEEPING

The business registration certificate is valid for the trade name written on it, the real and legal person, business address, and field of activity. If any of these details change, the registration certificate loses its validity.

IMPORTANT!

It is mandatory to obtain the approval certificate by 31.12.2012.
