What Are the Rules to Pay Attention to in Swimming Pools?

Non-compliance with the provisions of the “Regulation on Health Principles Applicable to Swimming Pools” dated 06.03.2011 can be detected by authorized authorities. In this context, it is beneficial to check the compliance of the following points to avoid penal situations.

How?

  1. Pool depths must be written in 4 directions.
  2. The children's pool must be separated from the adult pool.
  3. The number of showers, toilets, and changing rooms must be sufficient (1 unit per 20 people).
  4. The number of showers, toilets, and changing rooms must be arranged separately for women and men.
  5. Toilets and sinks must have plenty of clean water, liquid soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bins.
  6. Warning signs must be placed in appropriate locations where they can be easily seen and read.
  7. Before passing from changing rooms to the swimming pool, arrangements must be made to ensure swimmers take a shower and perform foot disinfection.
  8. The swimming pool surroundings must comply with the conditions specified in the regulation.
  9. There must be a telephone to be used in emergencies.
  10. The drainage grate must be closed.
  11. The pool operator must have an operator certificate.
  12. There must be a certified lifeguard.
  13. Rescue equipment such as ropes, floating buoys, life rings, and first aid materials must be ready.
  14. For indoor pools, lighting and ventilation must be sufficient.
  15. There must be enough toilets, sinks, and urinals in the spectator area to meet the needs of spectators.
  16. There must be a Daily (Annex:4) Analysis Record Book.
  17. Daily analysis results must be recorded in the book.
  18. Monthly Analyses (Annex:1, 2, 3) must be performed.
  19. Free chlorine, pH, and temperature values along with microbiological analysis results must be posted on a board easily visible to users.
  20. The disinfectants used must be permitted/licensed.
  21. The storage conditions of the disinfectants used must be appropriate.
